3. HAZARDS IDENTIFICATION

SORBATOX is of low acute toxicity but does contain free quartz. Ensure that atmospheric dust levels are maintained such that the amount of respirable quartz in the atmosphere is <0.4 mg/M3.

Long term exposure to excessive levels of any mineral dust can lead to respiratory problems.

 

4. FIRST AID MEASURES
Skin: Usually no problems arise. Cleanse with mild soap and water. If irritation develops seek medical attention
Eyes: In case of contact with eyes, rinse immediately with plenty of water
Inhalation: If strong inhalation of dust occurs it is recommended to clear the airways
Ingestion:

No treatment necessary

Personal precautions: Wastes are not classified as hazardous
Environmental precautions: None

Remove spillage by vacuum, scoop or shovel. Avoid creating dust. The use of water is not recommended; surfaces coated with wet material will be a slipping hazard.

Handling: Common care and ensure low dust levels.
Storage: Store in clean dry conditions. Keep container closed and ensure label is intact and legible.

Provided care is taken to inhibit airborne dust, normal factory disposal procedures may be employed using skips and tips, then landfill. Spillage's may be swept up. The use of water is not recommended; surfaces coated with a wet material will be a slipping hazard.
