THE PRODUCT:
PREFECT is a carefully balanced blend of carboxylic
acids on a verxite base. The acids are added
to a unique carrier matrix and are partially
buffered to prevent intake problems, they
are then combined with a FOS source.
Incorporated in the feed PREFECT will reduce
the pH of the intestinal tract. This is achieved
by providing an acid mineral substrate and
specific nutrient source to assist the commensal
microflora to outgrow potential pathogens.
The growth of the commensal bacteria is responsible
for the acidification of the gut and provides
a suitable environment to allow a full healthy
gut microflora to establish.
PREFECT should be used either from the first
day of life or post antibiotic therapy. The
result will be a healthy and self sustaining
gut microflora that is capable of resisting
attack from potential enteropathogens, originating
from feed, water, the environment or farm
staff.
