SORBATOX is a powerful and irreversible binder of mycotoxins from mould-contaminated raw materials and feeds. Minimises the risk of mycotoxicosis.

THE PRODUCT:

SORBATOX is a complexed hydrated aluminium silicate developed to bind chemically with the molecular structure of Aflatoxin in an irreversible manner.

Aflatoxins and Ochratoxin are produced in raw materials and feeds by several species of moulds from the genus Aspergillus. These toxins cause a range of clinical symptoms at all stages of development in pigs and poultry.

Other mycotoxins, including the Trichothecenes (Deoxynivalenol) and Zearalenone, are produced by species of Fusarium and Penicillium.

It is extremely difficult to diagnose with any certainty the presence or absence of Aflatoxins.

SORBATOX traps mycotoxins as a result of electrostatic attraction to aluminium ions and renders them unavailable to the animal throughout the digestion process.

MAJOR BENEFITS:

  • SORBATOX is a natural mineral product and is safe to feed to all classes of livestock.
  • It does not bind vitamins or other nutrients.Although primarily designed to bind Aflatoxins it has excellent activity against Fusarium toxins such as T2, Deoxynivalenol or Zearalenone.
  • By preventing liver damage due to Aflatoxicosis SORBATOX enables the liver to deactivate other microbial toxins.
  • SORBATOX has an acid pH and therefore it can be used successfully in combination with Agil acidifiers such as SALKIL, BACT-A-CID, PREFECT or RABBITSTAT.

USAGE:

Use at 2 - 6 kg/Te. Typical inclusion rate for mildly contaminated feed is 2.5kg/Te.

When approximate Aflatoxin levels are known the following table may be used as a guide:

AFLATOXIN LEVEL
SORBATOX INCLUSION PER TONNE
<20 ppb
1 kg
20 - 40 ppb
2 kg
40 - 60 ppb
3 kg
60 - 80 ppb
4 kg
>80 ppb
5 kg

SORBATOX should not be used in feed whilst animals are being treated with antibiotics based on Tilmicosin, such as Elanco PULMOTIL®.

PACKAGING:

SORBATOX is packed in 25kg plastic bags.
