THE PRODUCT:
SALKIL is a combination of free
carboxylic acids and their ammonium
salts on a unique carrier. The carrier
ensures that the beneficial effects of the
product are not restricted to the feed.
SALKIL is able to offer protection against
contamination or re-contamination of
poultry feed by Gram negative
enteropathogens such as E. coli and
Salmonella. Therefore SALKIL is
regularly used to improve the biosecurity
of feed mills by acting as a disinfectant
flush after cleaning. It is also being used
as a means of reducing contamination in
feedbins and feeders where feed is
stored either in the mill or on farm.
SALKIL contains propionates and
therefore it is effective as a mould
inhibitor for finished feed.
SALKIL assists in the acidification of the
entire digestive tract of the bird by
providing a controlled release of acids.
This combination of activities promotes a
healthy gut microflora by minimising the
contamination risk from feed. By using
natural organic acids to modify gut pH
SALKIL helps exclude potential
enteropathogens such as Salmonella,
E. coli and Campylobacter.
MAJOR
BENEFITS:
- Independent trials have shown
SALKIL to control Salmonella, E. coli
and other Gram negative microorganisms
in raw materials and
finished feeds.
