THE PRODUCT
OXISTAT LIQUID contains Butylated
hydroxyanisole, Ethoxyquin and citric acid
esters. It is formulated to control all
stages of autoxidation of fats, oils,
vitamins and pigments.
Autoxidation causes vitamins lose their
activity, pigments their colour, whilst fats
and oils develop an undesirable flavour
and odour known as rancidity, which may
lead to palatability problems.
The first stage of autoxidation involves
the generation of free radicals, and this is
catalysed by the presence of metal ions,
but can be slowed by the use of chelating
agents such as citric acid.
Free radicals interact with oxygen in the
air to form peroxides, which are further
oxidised to stable end products that
impart unattractive flavours and odours to
the feed, which will then be rancid.
MAJOR BENEFITS:
OXISTAT LIQUID contains a biological
chelating agent.
OXISTAT LIQUID contains two of the
most potent and stable antioxidants
known – BHA and Ethoxyquin.
BHA is effective in stabilising
hydrogenated vegetable oils, fish and
liver oils, vitamins, flavours and
essences. Ethoxyquin is particularly
active with unsaturated fats and oils
OXISTAT LIQUID uses a nutritional
carrier that is compatible with all feeds.
OXISTAT LIQUID protects vitamins and
improves the shelf life of animal feeds
and raw materials.
OXISTAT LIQUID prevents rancidity and
odours in two ways. It delays initiation
then it slows oxidation.
OXISTAT LIQUID retains palatability and
feed freshness.
USAGE:
For long-term protection spray OXISTAT
LIQUID into the feed at 250 ml/Te. For
high fat feeds or raw materials increase
the rate to 500 ml/Te with 1000 ml/Te
used in liquid fats and oils.
OXISTAT LIQUID is available in 25kg
drums or 200 kg barrels.
NOTE
OXISTAT LIQUID, in common with other
antioxidant products, will not reduce rancidity
if it is already present. Results are
dependent on the purchase of non-rancid raw
materials and general cleanliness/hygiene of
manufacturing plant.
