LEVELS IN TOXIN BINDERS
While Agil continue to
obtain more and more dioxin analyses of
SORBATOX, other products continue to fail
to meet the European standards.
The EU regulations that
come into force on 1st November 1999, give
a maximum dioxin level in kaolonitic clays
of just 0.5 WHO PCDF/F-TEQ (picograms) per
gram of 500 picograms per kilogram.
This level is very low
and is only just above the instrumentation
blanks measured in the laboratory of 0.31
picograms per gram.
The group of kaolonitic
clays includes all the aluminosilicate minerals
used for toxin binding. It is well known
now, that kaolinites from Germany and USA
fall outside of these new guidelines.
SORBATOX has a dioxin level
of 0.44 picograms per gram compared with
an American product - Condition Ade - which
has a value of 1.3 picograms per gram.
Evidence suggests that
out of hundreds of mineral samples tested
by independent laboratories in the UK, only
3-4 samples have passed the EU standards.
SORBATOX is therefore
one of the safest mineral products that
can be used as a toxin binder or mineral
carrier in animal feeding.
